Our History

In the vibrant year of 1965, amidst the spirited Cedar Hills Shopping Center, Mac and Marion Thornes orchestrated a magnificent event – the grand opening of the brand-new Pizza Inn. The town buzzed with anticipation as the savory aroma of freshly baked pizzas wafted through the air.

With 1966 came a bold proclamation from the Thornes: “Our secret old-world sauces, dressings, and dough recipes can’t be copied or equaled…” The secret ingredients, locked away in the heart of Cedar Hills, became legendary, whispered about in hushed tones among eager diners.

The winds of change swept through in 1968 when the Thornes decided to part ways with their beloved Pizza Inn. The reins were handed over to McCallister, who left an indelible mark on the pizzeria. Unfortunately, life has its own timeline, and in June of 1970, McCallister’s story found its final chapter in the pages of an obituary.

Enter Joe Fiala, a new chapter in the Pizza Inn saga. With passion and enthusiasm, he took the helm, ushering in an era of innovation and culinary artistry that marked the turning point in the history of this establishment. During his tenure, the establishment underwent a transformation and the name was rechristened simply as “The Inn.”

Fast forward to the present day, where a new guardian of tradition, Dan Beltz, now proudly calls The Inn, formally Miguel’s his own. In a bold and heartfelt move, he decided to honor the glorious history of Cedar Hills and the beloved pizzeria by resurrecting the original name. In October of 2023, “The Inn” was reborn, breathing life into the memories of yesteryears and bringing back a unique piece of Cedar Hills for all to savor and enjoy.
